What to Expect App

As soon as I found out I was pregnant, we didn't want to share it with my family just yet. The pain we all faced in December 2011, was enough to make me not want to drag any other family members through the misery again. Plus, the family was a little stressed, Trish was having a baby and Tara too. Too much going on. One of the biggest things too was everyone telling me to 'take it easy', 'don't run', 'don't mow lawns', 'stay out of the sun', etc, etc. I wanted to enjoy my summer. So I did... We waited until the end of August to tell our families.

Since I couldn't ask my sisters too many questions and I wanted to stay up with the daily symptoms I should feel, I downloaded the popular What to Expect When You're Expecting app on mg iPhone. It posts daily information corresponding with your due date. Each day, was freakishly accurate...teeth hurt, headaches, etc.

Most the posts are full of helpful slightly stressful information. Today's however, I found a bit too much. Why do they try to freak people out? Don't they know that years ago, mothers never even had a an ultra sound before delivering a baby? There was no daily updates or millions of books or 3D ultra sounds, or home monitors to check heartbeats. We are in the 21st century, spoiled! I'm happy and not happy to be part of this day and age of pregnancy.

Below are some screenshots of my daily app. Please read the third one and tell me why they would write this?!?!! Who has the time to count the daily movements? And why freak out the new moms? Crazy!

Most days though, I'm tankful for my What to Expect app.
