Today Josh and I were nervous for our 13 week ultra sound! This time two years ago, we got awful news about the babies heart and lungs. We left the office in a blur. Today, I think we both walked in a haze. Silently, we were each praying for a positive ultra sound.
I like our ultra sound tech. She's a no mess around, get the job done, but has a hint of humor too middle aged woman. Pictures of her kids hang around the office too. She was aware of our past history and the sad news she presented us with two years ago. Secretly, I knew she was rooting for us too.
It didn't take long for all of us to see a large, baby actively moving around. It was instantly better than the last 13 week ultra sound we had viewed. My shoulder finally relaxed. "Phew! Thank you God!" She took many pictures for us. She was surprised I was measuring bigger than predicted. She even said, nothing stood out to her as abnormal....she left off "like last time". Josh and I were really happy to hear a solid heartbeat too. She talked to the doctor too. I meet with him on Wednesday. We got some pictures on a CD too.
We both left very happy. We know the delivery is still a long ways away, but we are more hopeful to deliver a healthy baby. I knew many people were on to me. It's getting harder to keep weight off and keep my stomach in....THAT'S A WHOLE OTHER TOPIC. So tonight, we felt we had to share with the social media world!! As you can see, lots of people are happy for the Bassett team.
I'm thankful for our positive ultra sound results today! I am also thankful for all the great friends and family who are happy for us as well!
