Decorating for Christmas

This will probably sound odd, but who cares! I loved living at my parents house! I mean LOVED it. Self analysis, is that I finally felt like our family was back together after my parents divorce. It was the nicest and biggest house we'd ever lived in. It was fun for my sisters and I to each have a bedroom, on our own floor. Ha. We loved it. But most of all, I loved Christmas at my mom and Larry's.

The house was always decorated. We helped mom and larry on the inside and the outside. Fun times. The neighbors even used to try to out do Larry in lights! Pretty sure small planes thought our private road was a small run way in December. It was awesome! I loved driving up the driveway after my night shifts at Andy's!

This year my mom's foot is still swollen and grandma's recovery is taking time away from my mom's decorating, but not fudge making. :) So Josh and I helped them on Sunday get all the totes and boxes down from the attic. Tonight, Tara and I went over and helped my mom decorate the basement and put lights on the Christmas tree. It was a lot of fun. My mom doesn't do anything half ass so this took some time. :) Maybe she's getting picky in her older age? (sorry mom). However, I do always remember the lights on the tree having to be perfect! Pretty sure we didn't get to touch the lights on the tree until age 25?! Ha! I remember my mom always 'fixing' the tree after we went to bed. My memory never failed. She couldn't fool me. I knew where I hung those ugly elementary school ordainments (in the back) and somehow the ended up in the front. Nice try mom. ;)

As we decorated today, my memory flooded of past Christmas' and trees from our home in Florida to our last house together. It was fun today to dance with Paige and sing with the 4' Santa as we hung lights and cleaned. My mom had fudge to keep our batteries charged.

Tonight it was fun to decorate my parents house with my mom, Paige and Tara.

I'm thankful I was able to help my mom and spend time with my family. I love Christmas at my parents!
