My Mom

Today's thankful blog post is easy. Today I am thankful for my mom. Today, I am thankful to be able to celebrate my mom and all she's done for me.

My parents got divorced when I was in 8th grade. My mom had custody of us three girls. She was waiting tables at a restaurant at the time so she could be home more and come to our sporting events. I don't know how she did it, but she worked everyday to provide for me and my sisters.

One thing I loved about my mom was that she was always awake in the morning before we went to school. She'd be watching the channel 10 news and always give me the weather report for the day. :) I was about the only senior at the lunch table to have my sack lunch made by my mom. Most the time she made me one for after school as well. I loved that she saw us off to school each day.

My mom rarely stressed me or my sisters out about bills or money. She did what she could to provide us with everything we needed. It wasn't until my college years that she would share how each day was a financial struggle and how completely stressed it made her.

Even though she was working, my mother tried to make it to as many of my events as possible. She even traveled to my away games having to pick my sisters up early from school, but she was there to cheer me on. Everyone plays better with their mom in the stands. :) I was thankful my mom was there to support me. I'll never forget it. Even now as I am coaching, I love to see my mom in the stands. She's great!

After my mom met Larry, her stress level lowered. We were all happy when she married him. :)

Now, my mom has become a more loving and caring person. She is still involved in mine an my sisters lives. She is a wonderful daughter, wife, mother and now grandmother.

I'm so thankful to have such a great mother! Love you Mom!
