Mowing

Today I got my mowing done. I mowed grandmas in pretty good time. Then I came home and mowed and weed whipped our yard too.

I like mowing. It gives you time to think and listen to music. Pretty much you're in your own little world. I stayed in my own little world for while tonight.

I'm thankful for my hours of mowing tonight.

Nice Neighbors

Tonight we received a surprise visit from our neighbors. They brought us some warm apple crisp, some pretzel and chocolate snacks, and the kids each made us a card. It was so nice. We are very thankful that we know our neighbors. We are happy we've never had any negative encounters with them. They are very thoughtful and kind.

I'm thankful our neighbors brought us goodies and cute cards tonight!

Sleeping In

Saturday I got to sleep in. I didn't have to go to help set up volleyball. I didn't have to work. :) I slept in. It felt awesome.

I'm thankful for sleeping in Saturday.

Family visit

Instead of going to the varsity football game, we decided to go visit the new baby. Craig and Josh made burgers and fries. Yummy. We played with the kids. Did bath time with Paige. Read a book. It was a good relaxing evening with the family. I'm thankful for our fun night.

Thursday Night TV

I have been waiting since last May to watch Thursday night TV! I've been so pumped to watch Greys Anatomy. Finally! Tonight!

It was also Tori's birthday. She wanted Marino's pizza and cheese bread. That was easy! I also made some cupcakes. We ate some pizza and watched the two hour opener of Grey's. Talk about intense. Loved it!

I enjoy Thursday night TV. I really enjoy it with our SAU friends too!

I'm thankful the falls shows are back on.

Positive News!

Today Josh and I were nervous for our 13 week ultra sound! This time two years ago, we got awful news about the babies heart and lungs. We left the office in a blur. Today, I think we both walked in a haze. Silently, we were each praying for a positive ultra sound.

I like our ultra sound tech. She's a no mess around, get the job done, but has a hint of humor too middle aged woman. Pictures of her kids hang around the office too. She was aware of our past history and the sad news she presented us with two years ago. Secretly, I knew she was rooting for us too.

It didn't take long for all of us to see a large, baby actively moving around. It was instantly better than the last 13 week ultra sound we had viewed. My shoulder finally relaxed. "Phew! Thank you God!" She took many pictures for us. She was surprised I was measuring bigger than predicted. She even said, nothing stood out to her as abnormal....she left off "like last time".  Josh and I were really happy to hear a solid heartbeat too. She talked to the doctor too. I meet with him on Wednesday.  We got some pictures on a CD too.

We both left very happy. We know the delivery is still a long ways away, but we are more hopeful to deliver a healthy baby. I knew many people were on to me. It's getting harder to keep weight off and keep my stomach in....THAT'S A WHOLE OTHER TOPIC. So tonight, we felt we had to share with the social media world!! As you can see, lots of people are happy for the Bassett team.

I'm thankful for our positive ultra sound results today! I am also thankful for all the great friends and family who are happy for us as well!

Favorite People

Tonight we went to visit some of our favorite people. We went to Tara's to see the new baby and Paige. We visited with them. They are doing well. Then we stopped out to my moms who had the boys while Trish was working. Wyatt hugged me and said, "I miss you!" How cute is that? Love that kid!

I'm thankful we visited with our family tonight. :)

Saturday

Josh and I had a busy Saturday.

We stopped for dinner at Olive Garden and we ran into many people we knew...a family Josh had their son in class. Another of Josh's former students. Then an older couple friends of my aunts. Then a softball alumni an her family. Talked to them. Then our waitress was a Western Alum. Crazy. It was almost stressful. We went to Meijer and saw some high school kids. Saw another softball alumni's dad too. Crazy.

Tonight it made me thankful we live in a nice community and are liked here. I'm thankful we have good relationships with many people too.

Friday Night Lights

(Yesterday...)

Friday we hosted the first home football game on the upgraded football field. It was a full day of hype and anxiety for many. Jason and myself were pretty well prepared. However, we spent a majority of the day getting ready for the game. Cleaning the new press box and setting it all up was kind of fun. The game went pretty smoothly other than the rain! It was fun to see lots of alumni return too! Even saw some classmates. Fun.

I'm thankful our first home football game is over for the year. Long day, but a good one.

Roast

Tonight I made a roast. I haven't done this but once our first year of marriage. I got some tops from friends and started the crock pot dinner. I didn't love it. However, Josh did.  I was glad he loved the dinner!! :)

Meeting Roman

I'm behind!!

Today we got to meet Roman. We have been waiting for so long to meet him to. I'm happy Tara is not pregnant anymore too. He's so cute. He's healthy. He's got am awesome mom and dad. He's got a cute older sister too. :) I'm thankful we could bring Paige to the hospital tonight to meet Roman. :)

Finally saw the Scholten's

We have been trying all summer to catch up with our friends the Scholtens. It just hasn't worked out. It was so nice to show up to their place and just hang out. We ate some sub sandwiches and sat around and caught up with each other. It's always so nice at the Scholtens. It's laid back and comfortable. Low stress. Annie was in a good mood too. She showed off her athletic abilities too. She's pretty coordinated. Max is getting pretty big too. He's more alert and often smiled tonight. I know his parents are happy he's sleeping more through the night. :)

I wish our friends still lived close to us. I miss having Bethany to shop with on the weekends too. I'm glad they live closer to their family now though.

It's always fun to visit Beth and Shannon. I'm thankful for our great friendship with them!

Monday

It was a good Monday. Not too busy and not too slow. Work day was over and then I spent my afternoon mowing. It was a nice night to mow too. I spent the time in deep thought. I enjoyed it. Now I'm home watching the Tigers on the couch very ready for bed. I'm thankful for a good Monday.

Sunday Chores

Today we did the usual Sunday chores. Grocery shopping, laundry, clean out cars, get ready for the week, clean the house, clean out the fridge, etc. Most Sundays, I do this alone. Today however, Josh stepped up and and did a little extra. He vacuumed my car. It looks great. While I was coaching, he cleaned both our bathrooms, folded a load of laundry, and made dinner. :) I appreciate Josh's help with the Sunday chores.

Saturday with a Friend

Today was a good day. I got up late. I did a Jillian workout video. I met my friend Jenna in town. We hit up a few stores. Then we ate lunch at Panera.  We had a little mouse guest outside too. He was cute. Then with her mom, we ventured downtown to Swan Creek candle. Love that place. I made a few purchases. Then we did our afternoon runs. She ran to our house and I ran a 3.44 mile block. Then I took her back to her moms. It was a fun afternoon of exercise and good times. I'm thankful I had Saturday off.

No Friday Home Football

I was so happy that we didn't have to host football this Friday.  Not complaining but it's a lot of work for our office. People volunteer their time to help run the clock, pressbox, concessions, chains, and gates. There's endless planning right until kick off. Then clean up. It's stressful. So I went to work on a Friday and left at 3pm. I came home, took a nap and had dinner with Josh. Then we went to the game together and enjoyed time with our friends. I'm thankful we got to sit and enjoy it together.

New Cup

I NEED TO DRINK MORE WATER! I really, really do. I have been drinking less and less pop so that makes me happy. However, I need more water. So tonight, we were bored so we ran into town to get me a new water cup. I purchased an on sale Tervis Tumbler from Bed, Bath & Beyond WITH a $5.00 coupons. So now I can drink more water.

I'm thankful for mine and Josh's quick trip in town and my new cup.

Grandpa V

Today Josh's grandpa had a heart attack. He was taken to the hospital and Josh's mom updated him all day. It was pretty scary. His age, poor health and lifestyle are contributing factors. We both felt bad we weren't living closer to visit. After talking to his mom tonight, we know he's stable. I'm thankful that Grandpa V made it through the day.

Busy Day

Today was a very, very, very busy Monday. I seriously looked up and it was 11am. It was awesome, but stressful. The next time I looked up it was 2:15pm. Thank goodness. The afternoon was full of volleyball and meetings. It was a crazy busy day. I'm thankful yet happy to be home.

I'm also so very thankful that while I was at meetings and at volleyball tonight, Josh kindly mowed my grandmas lawn. It was so long and I was worried I'd take me forever to mow it tomorrow. So Josh was nice enough to do it for me. He's awesome!

Help!

Today I started coaching a U10 softball team in an instructional league at Cascades. I was super nervous heading over to the ball park. I haven't coached kids this young in a while. Also, I had no assistants. I knew I had some 2nd graders through 5th graders in this group. As soon as I arrived, I saw a familiar face from my youth, Carlie Clingerman. He was my good friend's older brother. They both attended Northwest Schools. Charlie has been around base all for a long time. He's umpired since high school as well. He introduced me to his daughter and immediately asked me if I wanted some help! My thought, "HECK YA!!" I said, "Yes! Absolutely!"

And Charlie was awesome. He knew some of the girls who were friends with his daughter. He has coached some little league softball. We met with the umpire and away we went. It was great!

I was so thankful for Charlie who I could trust and gave me a ton of help. True story, before we started, I said ok so you hit the ball and run to first base right! The. Listen to coach and do what he says. The first second grader was up. As she walks to the plate, she stops, grabs my shirt for me to lower to her level and whispers, "where's first?!" So cute! I pointed. She smiled and stepped into the box. Funny. I also have two 5th graders who hit from both sides of the plate and slapped hit too! So...there is a huge range of talent in this group!

I'm happy to be coaching. I'm also happy for the great help I received today too!

Breakfast and Running

I hadn't had breakfast at Panera in a while. I woke up this morning and was craving a bagel. Yummy. So I picked up my niece Paige and we went to Panera. She was so good. Her and I sat in our booth and enjoyed some fruit and a bagel. She was very good too. Two people comment on their way out at how cute and good she is. It was a fun breakfast.

In the afternoon, I decided to take Paige out of the house to have some fun on the trail. We had her stroller and I was going to run while she rode. She kept saying. "Faster Aunt Tonya!"  Talk about motivating. Ha. I made the mistake of letting her out of the stroller to throw rocks in the lake. From then on, we had at least 3/4 of a mile to go. She thought she wanted to run with me with no shoes on. She ran and ran. The kid never got tired. She'd stop, take a drink and keep on going. I couldn't believe it. At one point, I thought maybe she could be a runner. People smiled as they passed us. She just said hi and kept running. I loved that she didn't mind getting sweaty or that she was barefoot. It was awesome! If it hasn't been for the dark clouds over our cars, she would have run the last .1 miles too.  But I had to grab her and run. She had so much on the trail today.

I'm thankful for my time with Paige today. She's peacefully asleep in our spare room. :)

Friday Energy

Tonight I was happy that many people attended our football game with a positive attitude. Last year, this wasn't always the case. People are excited for Western Football again. It was a nice to be part of that too. I'm thankful for the Western energy again.

Nice People

Our building is under massive construction. I mean it's dirty and it a little chaotic. However, we hosted three teams tonight for volleyball. Tonight lots of nice people asked a lot of questions about our bond and improvements. It was fun to talk to the nice area people. I enjoy conversations with nice people.

I'm thankful for nice people in our community.

Josh

Today I am thankful for Josh. I hate making dinner and planning dinners. Since I did it last night, he called me on his way home with a suggestion. He was going to stop and pick up. I was thankful he took care of dinner tonight. I cleaned up. :)

Run

I left work later than I wanted too. I slept like crap last night too. So all I wanted was to curl up on the couch and sleep. However, the sun was shinning so I came home and put on my running clothes. It felt good to run in the sun. Loved it. I'm thankful I made it through my run today.

Last Lake Day

Today was a great day on the lake. It was sunny. It was warm. We all wore our suits. We all got some sun. The kids swam and swam. They played in the sand. Wyatt and Paige just love playing together. It's awesome. My mom brought lots of sand toys. Larry cooked some awesome chicken. I had two kids eating off my plate it was so good. Mary's pasta salad was good. Aunt Chris' cookies were yummy and of course, Grandma's brownies rocked! I probably gained 5lbs but who cares. My diet and exercise start again tomorrow. :)

I really enjoyed our day at the lake today even though Tara and Craig had to work. Boo. I am thankful our family shares holidays together. :)

Family

This weekend we have spent a lot of time with my family. We had a birthday party for Eastyn and a baby shower for Tara. Most of my family came to both functions. They gave up their time to celebrate with us. Our family is awesome. I appreciate my family. :)
