Today I am thankful for my eye doctor appointment. Josh made us appointments together for this morning. We both got to sleep in an extra 30 minutes and we both went to work a little late. :)
I really am not a huge fan of getting my eyes checked. I rarely get a good report. I've been blind since about the 6th grade. When I first went to my eye appointment in 7th grade after telling my mom I couldn't see the board, my eyes were already -2.5. I couldn't even see the big E on the screen. I watched as the assistant rechecked my chart and said, "do you wear contacts? You really can't see the board in class can you?" Nope! I could not.
Ever year since then, I go to the eye doctors only to hear they have changed slightly. Today however, they had not. I got scolded a little for how OLD my lenses were, but my eyes remained at a -6.5 in one and a -7.0 in the other. Wonderful. I still had to get my eyes dilated for other tests. Man, do I hate that feeling. Instant headache all day. At 12:40pm, my eyes were still huge. Ugh.
Even though I don't love my eye appointments, I'm thankful that I have a good optometrist. I'm also thankful that technology allows me to not have to wear some huge coke bottle glasses everyday!! :) Contacts are awesome!
Today I am thankful for eye doctor appointments. :)
