I watch TV. I might watch too much TV. I have my favorite shows each night. Thank goodness for DVR!! This lovely invention allows me to record my shows and watch them without commercials at my leisure. Wonderful invention.
Tonight while watching the Bachelor I kept flipping to The Biggest Loser. This show has always held my interest. Recently I have noticed more and more obese adults and children in the area. As I walked through the middle school halls, I am saddened by the kids who are significantly over weight. I instantly feel bad for the adolescent. My next emotion is anger. Anger at the parents for allowing them to not be inactive and for using fast food as meals more than once a week. Electronics are babysitters and if I could see their parents, they are probably over weight as well. My next emotion is sad. If weight is a family issue, it's probably closely related to some sort of depression. Honestly, all these emotions run through my head before I even meet my destination. The world has a problem.
I wish I could do more to help the world with this issue. It makes me sad to think of the self esteem issues that these people are facing daily. Thankfully, The Biggest Loser has taken the childhood obesity issue seriously. This season they are working with some younger kids to help them address their issues. They are helping them with some exercise ideas they are teaching them better eating habits. They are using some some youth to help spread the world to help fight childhood obesity. I enjoyed the past two episodes, but mostly I like the cause. I also like to see people push themselves to transform. It's awesome!
Today, I'm thankful for the show The Biggest Loser!

Christmas Break Comes to a Sad Ending
It always happens. It always ends. 15 days ago, I was super excited for my two week Christmas (I refuse to call it anything else) break to begin. I love the holidays. I love being at home and not at work. I love times with my family and friends. I really love that our students and kids get a well deserved break too. Here is a recap of what I was thankful for during my break.
Shopping and extra time with Josh. Even though two of the days we were couch and bed ridden from the flu, we enjoyed hours of movies that we probably wouldn't have watched together had we had been well. We enjoyed some quality time together.
Birthday and Christmas. Since these are so close together, I really enjoy these days. We traveled all over Jackson meeting with my family and our friends. We took a trip up north to Cadillac to see Josh's family too. It was great to see our families.
Time with our friends. We visited the Scholten's. I had lunch with Jenna and Tara and Jess and Paige and Brooklyn. I had breakfast with my dad. We hung out with our friends the Oliver's. I went to Panera a lot for my diet Pepsi. Yum! Alexis and Tori stopped by before they left for their mission trip. I went with Kathy Sharp to Ann Arbor to have lunch with Jenna. God times with my friends and family. We. Went to Firekeepers too with mom and Larry!
I watched my nephews over night. We took them with Paige to play some games at Marino's. I built a fort with Wyatt who loved it. We read books and played games. I love those kids!
I worked out. I ran outside in the cold with Julie. I HATE running in the cold! I ran in the school and worked out too! Very happy with myself.
I enjoyed some quality computer time. I organized my life in things and activities I enjoy!
I rested. I usually don't do this, but I did. I read a few chapters in my book. I watched some movies. I enjoyed being lazy. I got to wear sweat pants most every day! I love that feeling of sweatpants, a warm hoody, and slippers! Love it!
I cleaned. I like cleaning. I love it really. I'd rather clean bathrooms than cook any day! I organized a few areas in my house that were a mess. Glad I did.
We went to church and started our New Years resolutions. Wahoo!
I realized today that I'm very fortunate to have two weeks off. Most people aren't that fortunate, I realize this I said a quick thank you today that I could enjoy one last day off!
Today I sat and recapped all these wonderful things I got to enjoy the past 15 days.
Thank you Lord for this time off to enjoy the little things in life. I am thankful for my Christmas break!

Saturday Night Fun
(I'm not sure what happened to last nights post. I posted before bed, but now I can't find it.)
So when most people read this title, they think dressing up, going out to a romantic dinner, and maybe a movie. Those of you who know me know: No me! No us!
Today I got a phone call from Marc Oliver asking us to join their family in enjoying some homemade pizza at their place in Spring Arbor. We gladly accepted. We out on our jeans and sweatshirts, picked up some pop, and even brought my slippers!! Most the family was there sporting the new Christmas gear. Everyone was in good moods as we chatted and ate.
Later in the evening Scott even talked us into playing a drawing game. We enjoyed far too many laughs during the game too. Tearful really.
Josh and I both enjoy laid back evening with our friends the Oliver's and all their kids. They are fun, caring people. We are thankful that we get invited to their family functions.

Niece and Nephews
Today Trisha brought Wyatt and Eastyn over at about 230pm for me to watch. They were going hunting and she had asked me to watch them over night.
Tara called and asked to go to Marino's to get out of their house for a bit. I gladly said yes. The boys loved out! Paige was a trip too. It was a lot of fun playing with them. They are young so the 10 bucks went a long way. They played some games, won a small prize. It was a good time. I'm glad they all got to hang out!
Tonight I'm thankful for being able to ha g out with my nices and nephews!

Procrastinating
When I see this word, I list a MILE starts running through my head. My stomach turns and my mind pictures myself with my fingers in my ears saying 'nah nah blah blah, blah!"
I was so excited for my break to start so I could finally get a lot done. Yea, well who was I kidding right? Four days of Christmas activities, a birthday, traveling, concession stand duties last Friday, and two days of the knock me down can't stand up flu bug, pretty much sucked away my days. Yea, yea, two weeks off...I suck.
I also sucked it up on the workouts too. Today, I got distracted at the school and only ran one mile in the chilly hallways did some sit ups and push ups. Boo me! However, during my distraction, Scott and I discussed winter and spring workouts and equipment. We need a plan for practices during winter/spring construction. I felt we came up with some good ideas.
I did however make myself work on some softball items before I left my office. I worked on the mom to mom sale, I counted some money, and updated the donations spreadsheet, and made a deposit at the credit union. I am proud of myself for completing these tasks. They are time consuming and down right stressful.
I ran a few errands in town and then spent some time doing some research at Panera. I also dabbled in some Christmas video DVD making this afternoon when I got home. I enjoy computer activities. That was fun. Less stressful too. My blog now feels more 'me' too. I also made dinner. I am pretty sure I hate cooking more than most, correction, ANY household tasks, but I did it. Ugh.
One positive, as I walked into our spare room today, I noticed the softball collage frame on my wall. A gift from the team. It was from my first year of coaching varsity softball 2013!! I couldn't believe 10 years! I smiled and took a picture. I then proceeded to text it to 8 of the 12 alumni's numbers I had. Their responses were great! I love thinking of softball memories from my first year coaching today. So many great people and memories!! One my sister and friend Amanda. Good times!
The last few days, I've found myself wanting a change. As I look around my house, I see 20 things I would like to change or update, but I think we'd rather sell. I really haven't felt this driven to update or move since we've lived here. Maybe it's time. Bye, bye savings account...
I did get some things cleaned up around our home today. I sold our extra TV and picked up and threw things we don't need away. That's a plus. I enjoyed a movie I had not seen in years too on the couch. Ha!
I think today I'm just thankful for time. I kept getting upset at myself for not getting more done, but then I reminded myself....there's always tomorrow! :)

Lazy Day
I woke up early with a list of things to do. To hold myself accountable, I even tweeted that I needed to get my 'to do' list completed. I ran in town to begin my day. Most my items were checked off. However, I need to complete a few more items tomorrow. Not a very exciting day, but I was thankful I wasn't at work and I was doing whatever I my heart desired.
:) I'm thankful my break is not over and I'm still getting things done on my list!

New Year's Day
I decided to continue my blog for 2013. I haven't come up with an original title yet, but oh well. I'm pretty lame so it fits.
We made some New Year's resoluations. I'm excited to see where they take us.
I am thankful I started 2013 off with a workout. Now I hate running in the COLD. I mean HATE IT! However, Julie was going to run so I kinda invited myself mostly so I couldn't wuss out and not workout today. I had all the excuses lined up too. It's cold, I didn't sleep a lot last night, I need to clean, etc, etc. However, I did it. We ran 2 miles in the cold weather. Hated and loved it! I'm thankful I started my new year out with a run. :)
I've also spent this evening do me time things:
Updated my phone
Updated my Itunes
Put my sweet new decal on my car
Updated my BLOG for 2013!
I am thankful for the start of 2013!
