To Do List

Today I got to actually leave work at 3pm and do whatever I desired.

Today I had to complete my 'To Do List'. It consisted of 20 things that I needed to complete before tomorrow softball awards night and before we leave for Vegas!!

I left work and circled all over Jackson checking off items left and right. Wow did that feel good!!

I even picked up dinner for me and Josh too. I am thankful I was able to get my to do list completed.

Little League Softball

Tonight after a meeting, I ran by the high school to check out some little league (5th and 6th grade) softball. I knew many of the girls on the rosters. I even saw some alumni coaching and in the stands.

It was nice to see the girls loving the game and the fans so supportive. I love little league softball. :)

Spring Cleaning

Today we wrapped up our paperwork and end of the season stuff for softball. Pretty much the boring stuff, but it's gotta be done.

I asked the girls to help really clean the pressbox. I just had to get our stuff organized It had been neglected for quite some time. Totes, totes, and more totes!! It looks good and I feel like I finally know where all our 'stuff' can be found!!

Today I am thankful for my girls helping me clean our press box!! It looks great! Thank you for your help!

T-ball

Tonight was the first night since March 12th, that I have been able to come home after school and do nothing! It's bittersweet to me. Probably more sad really.

Anyway, tonight was our night to go watch our nephew Mylo Good play some t-ball! He usually plays on Saturdays, but tonight was a make up time. My mom, Tara, Paige and Josh and I headed to Leslie to see some t-ball baby!

It was actually relaxing to just sit with my sisters in a blanket and watch some little kids start their love for baseball/softball. What a hoot. Infielders sit in the dirt right?! :) T-ball was so cute to watch. Mylo hits the ball well too. Afterward, we did a little trip to the park.

I am thankful for my bittersweet night with my family at Mylo's t-ball game.

No Children

Last night wasn't the most successful night we've had with all the boys spending the night. Because I am such a 'cool' Aunt. Mylo and I might have played the XBox 360 connect sports games a tad bit too late last night. This meant when Mylo came running into our bedroom at 4am, "Aunt Tonya! My belly really hurts!!", I almost slept 4 hours.

The early morning burst got Josh and I right out of bed as Mylo ran back to the spare bathroom. This of course was followed by Champ and Marla thinking it was time to play. And of course, the baby Eastyn heard the commotion and woke up as well. Wyatt, age 2 1/2, was dead asleep still. Phew!! Now you moms out there are laughing, "Bahahahaha! Did that, done that. Four hours is a good night! Etc, etc." But here in the kid free home, it wasn't easy.

Luckily, I changed Eastyn, gave him a few ounce bottle and he was out. Mylo, on the other hand, was still hurting and spent the rest of the morning crying off and on on the couch with a 'belly ache'. He even asked for a "puke bowl". Poor kid. After just having the flu, I felt awful for him each time he woke up crying. Turned out by 8am, we were all up watching Sesame Street on the couches. ;)

Breakfast, clothes changes, dirty diapers, showers etc and we loaded up the car for the kid exchange at Grandma Stevens.

Now don't get me wrong, I love my nieces and nephews a ton. I'd watch them anytime. But tonight as I lay in bed blogging, I'm thankful that the only sound I might wake to tonight are our dogs. ;) And no kid will 'stop breathing' in a pack and play under our roof tonight. Phew! God Bless all you mothers.

Good night!!

Sad Ending

It was not supposed to end like this. It was not supposed to go this way. I can't believe it's over...

Today, we lost to Northwest in the semi-finals 8 to 4. We got off to a good start, but couldn't close out the game. One bad inning, hurt us. Emotions were running high. Our two seniors didn't want to end their careers today, but unfortunately, all good things must come to an end.

As the day started, I could honestly say that my team had not checked out. They were all there ready to play hard. And they did. We just weren't the better team today.

The final gathering was a sad one as I was at a loss for words. The tears overwhelmed me before I even got to the circle of girls. They were all crying, heads hung low. I love this group of girls and their parents. It's the best team chemistry I've had in a long time. :( I am sad to see my two seniors Abby and Michelle graduate tomorrow. I will miss them.

I am truly thankful that my team did not quit before the season was over.

Last Practice

Today, was a sad day. Potentially, our last practice. I hate the thought of the 'last' practice.

I really have that it was a rainy, cold one too. However we had two pitchers come pitch to us today. Coach Klassen was an All American pitcher at SAU and she threw some heat today. Tara Ziecina is my sister and alumni. She was my on my first varsity team ten years ago! It was nice to have some live pitching today!

Afterwards, we did or signing of the pressbox wall ritual! Love this. It's so fun to look back at all the former Western Softball players! :)

Last, but not least, we had our spaghetti dinner at my mom and Larry's house. Then we capped it off with some fishing! :) Closed the night with some cupcakes while watching some Detroit Tigers and College Softball. :)

Tonight was a great night for our team! I think we are ready to play in the District tournament tomorrow! Thanks you for the great dinner mom and Larry! Today I am thankful for our 'last' practice!
