Who doesn't hate Monday's right?! Well today's wasn't as bad as I would have thought. I woke up and made it to work very early. I wanted to get a jump start on my week. I managed to do that throughout the day. My team stopped in for a lunch visit. I love the lunch visits! Our group of girls are wonderful.
Good practice, Josh made dinner, and I even mowed my grandmas lawn!
Today, I am thankful for a good Monday! :)

My Mom
Today's thankful blog post is easy. Today I am thankful for my mom. Today, I am thankful to be able to celebrate my mom and all she's done for me.
My parents got divorced when I was in 8th grade. My mom had custody of us three girls. She was waiting tables at a restaurant at the time so she could be home more and come to our sporting events. I don't know how she did it, but she worked everyday to provide for me and my sisters.
One thing I loved about my mom was that she was always awake in the morning before we went to school. She'd be watching the channel 10 news and always give me the weather report for the day. :) I was about the only senior at the lunch table to have my sack lunch made by my mom. Most the time she made me one for after school as well. I loved that she saw us off to school each day.
My mom rarely stressed me or my sisters out about bills or money. She did what she could to provide us with everything we needed. It wasn't until my college years that she would share how each day was a financial struggle and how completely stressed it made her.
Even though she was working, my mother tried to make it to as many of my events as possible. She even traveled to my away games having to pick my sisters up early from school, but she was there to cheer me on. Everyone plays better with their mom in the stands. :) I was thankful my mom was there to support me. I'll never forget it. Even now as I am coaching, I love to see my mom in the stands. She's great!
After my mom met Larry, her stress level lowered. We were all happy when she married him. :)
Now, my mom has become a more loving and caring person. She is still involved in mine an my sisters lives. She is a wonderful daughter, wife, mother and now grandmother.
I'm so thankful to have such a great mother! Love you Mom!

A quick Visit
Tonight I ran over to the Sharp house to visit my friend Jenna. She was here with her husband Bobby and his two boys for a big Mothers Day celebration with her brothers. It was nice to visit with her and her family. I have not seen Jenna in a long time. Today I am thankful for our visit.
Emotions
Today I am thankful for emotions. We lost a game tonight that we could not lose. We needed to win, but lost in the bottom of the 7th inning.
In the locker room, almost everyone had tears streaming down their cheeks. The seniors poured out their hearts at the realization that their senior year is coming to a close. They have been part of this program for four years. They've helped us build from the bottom up. They don't want it to end.
Our team faced reality that they are a close unique group. They love this sport and the second family they have spent countless hours. It was an emotional ending to a disappointing evening.
We play again at 10am today. We will see how the team bounces back.
I am thankful that this group of girls has grown as a family and that they feel comfortable enough to wear some emotion after a game.

Josh's surprise
Tonight I am thankful for Josh who surprised me with some potato soup from Panera Bread tonight! He also got me a salad that I will eat for lunch too. Even though I was pissed that we got our aces handed to us tonight and played awful, that made me happy. Cold rain. Then came home to warm soup. Thank you Josh!

Sweep!!
Tonight I am thankful for my team. We had a week off since playing last. We showed up today to mercy Napoleon 11 to 1 in game one. Then in game two, we were down 5 to 1, but pulled out a 9 to 8 victory in the bottom of the 9th inning! Everyone one of my girls played as a team tonight. They encouraged each other. They hit the ball well. They showed guts to win in the end! I'm proud of all 11 of them! Great job girls!!
