Eye Doctor Appointments

Today I am thankful for my eye doctor appointment. Josh made us appointments together for this morning. We both got to sleep in an extra 30 minutes and we both went to work a little late. :)

I really am not a huge fan of getting my eyes checked. I rarely get a good report. I've been blind since about the 6th grade. When I first went to my eye appointment in 7th grade after telling my mom I couldn't see the board, my eyes were already -2.5. I couldn't even see the big E on the screen. I watched as the assistant rechecked my chart and said, "do you wear contacts? You really can't see the board in class can you?" Nope! I could not.

Ever year since then, I go to the eye doctors only to hear they have changed slightly. Today however, they had not. I got scolded a little for how OLD my lenses were, but my eyes remained at a -6.5 in one and a -7.0 in the other. Wonderful. I still had to get my eyes dilated for other tests. Man, do I hate that feeling. Instant headache all day. At 12:40pm, my eyes were still huge. Ugh.

Even though I don't love my eye appointments, I'm thankful that I have a good optometrist. I'm also thankful that technology allows me to not have to wear some huge coke bottle glasses everyday!! :) Contacts are awesome!

Today I am thankful for eye doctor appointments. :)

Saturday Night

Tonight I had a million things to do. Millions...clean, mow my yard, laundry, clean. You know, the usual. And did I stay home and complete these things?! Nope! Of course not. I went to visit friends instead.

Dinner with Tara and Amanda and Paige at our old work place, Andy's Pizza! Paige was in such a good mood. I just love her! Then of course we hit Kohls and topped it off with some Cascades ice cream. Yum! Tara made the car ride a hoot with her old school rap music bringing back her and Amanda's high school days.

On the way home, I decided to stop by and see my friend's the Scholten's for a visit. Who wouldn't love a hug from this cute almost two and a half year old girl?! Annie is too cute! I got to catch up with my good friend Bethany. She's such a great person. :) I'm happy her and Shannon are so happy together.

Tonight I am thankful for a fun filled Saturday night!

Surprises

Today was full of happy surprises!

First, my mother and sister Tara sent me flowers at work. It was a beautiful bouquet sent to show their sympathy for me as May 4th didn't turn out to be the birth of our child. It was very thoughtful of my family. See the picture below.

Then after practice, Alexis and Tori and I headed to Ann Arbor to Dick Sports, but we never made it. We took my sister Tara and her friend Jess dinner and ate with them. We even got a brief tour of the University of Michigan's ER!

Then We headed over to Red Robin's for dinner. Since we received such poor service, we were honored with a FREE meal and anything we wanted to go and a ten dollar gift certificate! Sweet!

It was a fun day of surprises given and received!

Moment of Truth

Now, there are millions of TV shows played daily.  There is something for everyone. However, I'm not really big into reality TV. Why? Because it's NOT REAL! So I choose to enjoy televison drama shows. There is always a good lesson to be learned from one of the many stories going out throughout the 50 minutes. This one comes at the end of this six minute clip. :)

I love Grey's Anatomy! There are just some scenes that hit home.  Enough said really.  Tonight, I am thankful for good TV show scenes!

A Day Off

Today I gave our team the day off from practice. They needed a day.

I was able to work in my office longer. I was able to workout. I went to watch a game of softball between two teams we could see in the Diamond Classic Tournament.

However, my favorite part of the day was my visit to Trisha's house. Tara and Paige were there too. We had a few 'things' to do. :) I love hanging out with my sisters and their kids. They bring so much joy to each of us. Mylo is getting older and had tball practice tonight to tell us about. Wyatt always a wild treat. Eastyn is going to be such a sweet kid too. And then there's the adorable Paige! Man, those kids are so cute!!

Tonight I am thankful for our day off. :)

Many Thanks

Today I am thankful for many things. Most of them stem from my exciting evening, but still they all made me thankful.

I am thankful for WINNING!! Tonight, we broke a huge SMAA winning streak for Columbia Central's softball team!! I am thankful for our wonderful fans! I am thankful for my awesome assistant coach! I am thankful for my family support!! I am thankful for our parents who support, wash jerseys, bring food, bring drinks, and grill out hot dogs!! :)

Today our team did the little things that mattered. We bunted. We slapped. We ran bases aggressively. We hit the ball hard. We cheered and we finally believed in each other. It was a great team effort.

I am thankful that our team earned a good won tonight! Great job girls!!
