Accident

Today is Friday. Waking up on Friday's is so much easier than waking up Monday thru Thursday. :)

As we were leaving Panera for dinner, Josh went to turn left and at the last minute I yelled, "Josh!!!" A red piece of junk car, came around the corner with no lights on. He swerved, we did too but still knicked our car. Then the idiots took off! We tried to chase them, but no luck. We now have a big scratch on the front right of our white car. I bought that car with three miles on it. That was its first accident...if you don't count me backing into Josh's car in our own driveway two years ago. Too bad those people will get away with driving illegally. No use calling the cops so our insurance goes up. Ugh. What goes around comes around I guess.

I am just thankful we weren't seriously hurt.

Workouts

Today I'm thankful my softball girls keep pushing themselves to workout in the off season. It was nice to see nine girls stay and workout today. I'm thankful they care about our season.

Deliveries

There is no secret that I LOVE Panera. I mean LOVE Panera. It's best in the summer, outside on the patio, on a hot day!

Second best to that is when it's delivered to you at work! Alexis and Tori did that today. They decided they needed an early lunch outside the Arbor. :) Love it. I'm glad they were so nice to think of me today! I love those two! So thankful for them and my unexpected lunch delivery: potato soup and a diet Pepsi! Yum!

Also, I got to come home to this little girls today too. Nothing is more fun than knowing you're going home to this smiling face for a few hours!

Today I'm thankful for Alexis and Tori's lunch delivery and my few hours with Paige today!

Basketball Season

Today started girls basketball season!! To be honest, I was disappointed that I wasn't going to be coaching or on the bench tonight. Sad. Really sad. I was excited for our new coach too. Starting a season is always scary and exciting!!

Today I was thankful I got to watch some girls basketball. A whole different group of girls, but still fun to watch. :)

Appreciation

Appreciate is like thank you. It's just a bit more sentimental. Today I appreciate the 11pm post from Alexis Boyt. It made my day. I am thankful that Alexis entered the middle school gym nine years ago for 7th grade basketball try outs. She earned a special place in my heart that day. She's family now to my family too. I am very thankful for her in my life. :)

Cleaning

Today, even though we had Paige all day, I still went crazy cleaning. Josh organized his closet. Summer stuff out, winter in. I did 6 loads of laundry, gave the dogs a bath with help from Paige, made lunch, organized the guest bathroom's closet, vacuumed again, dusted, and cleaned the never fun, always cluttered, night stand. Bottom line, we need a bigger house. :)

It felt great to get a lot done and cleaned today. Josh even made dinner. Good day ended by some full court basketball. I'm happy I took some time this break to clean. Ahh!! :)

Relaxing on the Couch

Today, Josh and I got up and made a huge 'to do' list. We hammer those tasks out like mad men. Then we helped out my mom and picked up Paige. We visited the Scholten's and Mighty Max. (He's doing much better each day!) Then we stopped to have Paige see her mamma at work. We are so lame, we came right home to set up our new TV and watch movies. :)

Even though I loved my entire day. Loved seeing my friends and family. Loved hanging with Paige. However the best part of our night was relaxing on the couch. I love vacations and breaks. So happy to enjoy it with Josh watching TV wrapped in a blanket.

I'm so thankful for our Saturday night b

Black Friday

Fell asleep last night in the middle of this blog. I guess my 4 hours of sleep caught up to me.... Hehe. Gotta edit.

Oh how I love Black Friday! It officially signals the beginning of the Christmas season! :)

My friend Jenna and I have been shopping together for the past 5 years! Its usually a fun filled day full of busy parking lots slippery ice patches, drinks and lunch at Panera, heavy bags, long lines, and crazy door buster sales!

However, this year most stores opened at midnight so the 5am rush was, well, no rush. We got breakfast drinks and started at Sears. It was dead. Now Jenna is a very good sport. I usually have a lot to buy today. I feel it's my one day to get ahead. My family buys everyone presents. This means, I must start early. Today, the weather wasn't as cold as years past. It was a great day to shop.

After lunch, I did a round two with Tara, Jessica, and Paige. We walked the entire crossing again and stood in line forever at Kohls, but it was fun. Best Buy took a good chunk of change from my secret summer mowing money stash. Hehe. A new TV will fit great in our bedroom. ;)

I finally went home and Josh helped me unload. I napped. We watched a movie and went out to dinner. We decided to hit Home Depot, Kohls, and Walmart. Check out these $4.00 PJs that we found for each of our nephews and nieces. They are so cute!!!

I don't know how I made it to midnight, but I did. Feel asleep with my phone on my face. :)

I am thankful for the Black Friday traditions. I mostly love spending time with my friends and family. ;)

Thanksgiving 2012

It's ironic that today is Thanksgiving and I'm posting on my Thankful in 2012 blog about Thanksgiving. Hmmm...  I wanted to come up with a touching post for today, but my energy level is slowing decreasing.

There are so many things to be thankful for in my life. I could list hundreds.  I was able to sleep in, run 8 miles with friend Julie, and then head to the family festivities.

Josh and I watched the news when we woke up. There was a story about a nine year old who started letters to soldiers over seas. They showed video clips of soldiers who received the letters and how thankful they were. "Letters from home make our jobs worth it. It keeps us going." this man said.  Somehow I found that awesome! A nine year old did this?! I instantly felt awful for the men and women fighting for us and not being able to see their families today. Thank you to each of them!

The nine year old also said after her friend told her her dad was getting deployed. "I couldn't imagine not seeing my parents for over a year!"  How true!! I can't imagine not being able to see my family today.  I know I couldn't handle a YEAR!! It made me realize how lucky I really am. Every one in my family gets along.  We are able to have a big meal together and spend the night bowling together. We are thankful for our limited time together.

Today Aunt Chris cooked a great meal and everyone else contributed too.  The boys did some light metal detecting and we all bowled.  Everyone was a good sport too even the guys. We did 10 frames of crazy bowling followed by 10 more for a little chunk of change!

I received numerous texts from family, friends, and former players and current players. That to me, is awesome!! It's such a great feeling to get a text saying Happy Thanksgiving. And not just the group ones. It means so much to know people thought of you, even if it was for thirty seconds. They still did. I started thinking about how many people I am thankful for too. I shot some texts out as Josh drove us to dinner.

As Josh and I stopped at the gas station to get some cash, I felt sorry for the two young guys who were working. They didn't get to spend that time with your families. Ugh, made me for guilty for even going into the gas station. Geez!  I suck!

Today, though my thoughts were with our friends the Scholten's. They didn't get to spend their Thanksgiving at home with family, but rather a dinner out and at the hospital with their son, Max. I've mentioned Max in some earlier posts, however, today I am truly thankful that God is watching over our friends. Each day Max is fighting to survive. We hope he can be released and be home for Christmas. Watching my friends live in the hospital for the past four weeks is awful. It's true though, God only gives you what you can handle. I don't think I'm strong enough for what they are going through. Bethany is an outstanding mother. Max couldn't ask for anyone better...besides maybe his wonderful father. :)  I am thankful I met Bethany over ten years ago. Go Mighty Max!

Tomorrow, my grandma who delivered and raised five healthy, caring, and giving girls, is having surgery. She has cancer in her kidney and it's being fully removed. She's 79 years old. She is one of the reasons I am here today. She's the kindest most giving woman I know. She's the reason we still all get together for the holiday's.  Today, unfortunately, she was feeling ill so she did not make it to Thanksgiving. It just wasn't the same without her!  Sad, really. I've been praying since we found out, that she is a trooper through surgery tomorrow and fights this crappy cancer!  I am thankful everyday for my grandma and my grandpa! If you're reading this, please keep my Grandma Stevens in your prayers tomorrow!

Some days, I wish I could do more for others. I wish I could be like Ellen and give away money or cars to people who need them. Good people! But, I can't...so I do what I can each day. I feel like each day, God has reminded me to be thankful and to be kind to others. Even though, that's not so easy, I sure try my best.

Maybe I am rambling, but I know I am lucky. I have an outstanding mother! I have a great stepfather and my dad's not so bad himself!  I have a great husband, family, friends, job, home, car, and food to eat each day. I know today, there are some who did not have these things in their life.

I am thankful for my awesome Thanksgiving day with my family, minus grandma, and friends!

I am thankful too for my blog. I have committed to it since January 1st and I haven't failed to post. Each day, even if it's crappy, I find something to be thankful for!  I wonder what the world would be like if everyone could do the same?!

Happy Thanksgiving. I hope others was as great as mine! :)

Start of a Five Day Break

Today is Friday!! Well, technically it's Tuesday, but as far as work goes, it's FRIDAY. I can honestly say, I love this break! It's the best time of year! Fall sports are over. Winter sports are just beginning. The world is peaceful.

Josh was a good sport. We went and watched some 8th grade basketball and then were supposed to go home and grill some chicken. Josh said we should start our vacation off with some dinner at Panera! Wahoo!

We saw two Western alumni studying hard. We saw Cooper and her boyfriend. We saw Julie Oliver getting bagels. And we saw another MS teacher with her family. Too funny!

We enjoyed our new favorite the bacon turkey bravo sandwich. Yummy!

I am thankful for being able to enjoy five days work free. I'm especially thankful for Josh for kicking off our vacation with dinner at Panera! Yum!!

Good Meetings

Tonight we had a softball meeting to update our parents about our Florida trip. I was a little nervous about the turn out.

However all but two parents showed up and we had good conversation and excitement.

I feel like our group is on board to
fundraise and we're headed in the right direction.

I thankful for our good parent meeting today!

Fun Day with my Nephews

Today Josh and I helped out Trisha and Nick so they could take Mylo to a movie.

We picked up the boys and headed to my moms for lunch and snacks.

Mylo and Eastyn love my moms house. So many toys and puzzles and books. It's a good time.

We sang some songs in the car and even spent some time at the park! Wyatt loves the park. It was a beautiful day with my nephews!

Mylo's Birthday Party

Today we celebrated Mylo's 7th birthday with our families. I love family birthday's and spending time with the people I love!

I'm thankful my family gets along, for the most part, and likes to spend time together. :)

I am ALSO thankful that baby Max is off the CPAP and mostly breathing on his own. Our friends the Scholten's have gone through so much, the past four weeks, but all the prayers and love have helped Max battle on. I'm so happy for Max and his family.
