Day at the Zoo

My morning started off a little crazy with my obligations to the Golf Outing. It was starting to stress me out a little. However, I knew was going to enjoy my afternoon. 

Both sisters and their kids and myself all went to the Binder Park Zoo. Even though it rained, we made the most of the day! We saw animals and ate pizza and had a lot of fun. The kids really enjoyed it! 

I'm thankful for our day at the zoo!

Josh Made Dinner

Today I didn't feel so great. Studios weather is killing me with headaches and I might be trying to give up some caffeine. So that's not helping. I am feeling like I need to drink more water. So anyway, I didn't feel so great this afternoon. I got up early and got a lot done, but this evening, couldn't do anything. Headache. Luckily Josh came home and made dinner.  He grilled us some burgers and made awesome frozen French fries. :) 

I'm thankful he understood and helped me out tonight! Gotta love Josh!

Workouts

Today I was thankful for two workouts. One my friend Julie and I connected to run 4 miles around spring arbor. 

Two for our last week of workouts, we had over 30 kids in the gym tonight working out. The obstacle course at the end was fun too. I enjoy putting in time for our athletes. 

I'm thankful for workouts!

Rest Day

Well we didn't get much beach time in this weekend. What a freaking bummer!

However, I did get a little rest in today. I came home and didn't feel 100%! We watched some TV and took naps. We made a frozen pizza and watched some more TV. :)

Rainy Day 2

Ok. So I tired to be positive with the rainy day yesterday, but after today, I am not as positive. We had a fun trip of sun and beach planned. This was certainly not what we had pictured for our family vacation. It didn't help that we didn't get to bring the boys either. That just threw off the whole trip. Boo!

The one thing I am thankful for is my family and the time we've been able to spend (inside) this trip. Boo. Sad!

Rainy Day

Today was a disappointing rainy day at the beach. Boo. 

However, we made the best of our day and read a little, played some games, and did done shopping! We hung out with Aunt Mary and Uncle Rocky too! It's been a fun day of nothing really. 

I'm thankful for my the lazy rainy day with our family. 

Beach Time

Today we started our trip to Muskegon. It was a pretty quickly drive. Paige did pretty good. Too bad Trisha and Nick wouldn't let the boys come. 

We spent most the afternoon on the beach. Gotta love the beach. 

I'm thankful for some relaxing time on the beach. 

Awful run!

Do you ever start running and wish you hadn't? You're like "dear lord, why did I start this? I feel like crap!"  Your legs aren't moving with your body. The music isn't what you want. Everything is set up for a bad run. Ugh. That was me today. No matter how fast or slow I went, it sucked the whole way. I'm pretty sure a turtle passed me while snickering, "eat my dust!"  Ha!

When I was done, I was more than thankful that it was over!  It killed me!! I'm thankful I ran but hoping tomorrow's will be better! :(

Reading

Today I got some time to read. I enjoy reading a lot. I just wish I had more time to read. :)

I'm thankful I was able to read today. 

Clearance Table at Macy's.

I love the purses clearance tables at Macy's. If you've never tried it, you should check them out. I was in search of a new Fossil bag. The one I liked at Yonkers in Jackson was 'only' $128. Not on sale. I just couldn't do it. I'm too cheap. 

Tonight we, Kathy Sharp and Sam Sharp, drove to Ann Arbor to meet up with Jenna to celebrate her birthday. We shopped and ate some dinner too. We hit up Macy's to find the sale tables. I noticed that under that tables were more boxes filled with clearance purses. I decided to take a peek. I saw what I thought was a Fossil shoulder strap and pulled. I was right. It WAS a Fossil bag. A sweet one in fact. Not doubt, I had to buy it. So that I did. We searched a little more, but didn't find any other good ones. 

I was so pumped about my bag, I already transferred all my stuff over to use it tomorrow. Love it!! 

I'm thankful for my time with the Sharps today. I'm really thankful for my new purse and the sweet deal on (under) the Macy's clearance table. Seriously people, check them out. :)

Two Wins

I'm thankful I worked our hard today.

Lunch Outside

Today was a relaxing day for me. Josh went metal detecting. I ran some errands. For lunch I used a gift card and got a salad at Panera. I sat outside on the patio in the sun. I brought my Kindle and enjoyed reading too. 

I am thankful for my alone time to enjoy some time reading outside.  

Visitors

 Tonight we had some visitors. 

First alumni Michelle Leavitt stopped by with her mom, Cathy, to borrow the catchers gear for some batting practice tomorrow. Michelle is awesome. She's grown so much since I met her in middle school. She's certainly a product of good parenting.  I'm very happy she stays in touch with us. I'm happy she feels she can stop by anytime.  Love it!  I'm glad I got to chat with her and Cathy tonight. 

Soon after that, alumni Madison Cooper and her sister Zoey, stopped by too. They wanted to borrow some bats for their softball tourney tomorrow too. We were happy to see them too. It's alway fun to see and visit with the Cooper girls. They are so fun!  

I am thankful we have alumni (and family) come visit us at random times. We really don't mind at all. We enjoy visitors. They are always welcome to our house. :) 

Day with the Boys

Trisha let the boys come spend the night tonight. We had so much fun! We hung out today playing games. Then our evening plans changed as we ended up going to grandma and grandpa Larry's for some pizza, ice cream and fishing. It was fun!! The kids all played so well together too.  I love hanging out with our nephew. I'm thankful the boys got to spend the night!

Water Park

Today I got to go to the water park with my niece and nephews. Trish actually showed up today. I didn't think she was going to make it, but she surprised me and Paige! 

As soon as we pulled up Paige was squealing! When Trisha opened the van door, they boys were equally as excited. :) It was crowded, but we swam and had fun. Mylo even went down the slide by himself and HE LOVED IT! He kept going and going. We were proud of him. The only downer was Paige fell while following Wyatt to the water toys. Bloody lip wasn't too fun, but she was a trooper. 

We went to Wendy's and had some lunch. The kids were really good. Trisha and I got to chat. We had a good day together. :)

I'm thankful Trish showed up to the water park with the boys. It was a fun day!

 

Pool with Paige and Tara

I love summer. I mean LOVE summer! I love heat and I mean H O T. The hotter the better!! It's awesome!! I don't care how hot it gets, it will always be better than the S word!

Today my plans changed a little as Tara and Paige came into town. Then they came to swim. I love that Tara loves swimming too. Paige is starting to love it more too. It's fun! We swam for hours. We worked on swimming and blowing bubbles and jumping in. (Paige!) ha. 

She was so much fun. 

There isn't much more fun than swimming on a hot day. I love it. It reminds me of my youth. My mom took us to the pool a lot! We had a pool at our last house in Florida too. :) Loved it! 

I'm thankful for our fun pool day today with Paige and Tara. 

Monday - Dentist

Dentist. Now I don't hate going to the dentist. I never really have hated it. I can handle the pain a drilling, but I just don't love it. My dentist is awesome. I really like his kindness and willingness to please. 

Today, I spent a lot of time in a dentist chair. 3 plus hours to be exact. My face was numb until 6pm. Couldn't even drink from a straw at 430pm. I tried and wore some diet Pepsi. Ugh. 

I am happy with the results of my teeth but I hate the pain I still feel today. I can't bite into anything. Sad. 

I'm thankful that my dentist has such modem technology that his work is precise and quick! I really am thankful for our dentist Dr. Sheets!

Lazy Sunday - Bittersweet

Today was a lazy Sunday. We swam. We  grilled out. We swam some more. I had to cancel our double header basically because kids aren't committed to summer softball.  (I'm the nicer, less intimating coach, so it's easy to bail on Coach Bassett by texting some lame excuse while posting in social media a out your lake/pool day.) Side note filled with frustration. Blah. 

However I felt like screw them. If they don't care and want to bail, I might as well enjoy my day too. So I did. I ran 3.5 miles.  We swam some more. We went to an open house. We did some shopping purchasing some items for our vacation.  We are outside at Panera. :) We hit up the electronics at Best Buy. We drove through Cascades for some ice cream.  We ended our night with a movie. 

It's a bitter sweet night. I love coaching and softball, but I'm annoyed at the lack of commitment. I have to make some changes. However, a Sunday night off was nice too. Gotta love and hate lazy Sundays. 

Josh

Today I'm thankful for Josh. He's got up early and started preparing the house to be shown today. I had committed a while ago to this softball tournament and didn't want to strand the team. Josh cleaned the floors, cleaned the AC and furnace filters, cleaned some window screens, and mowed the yard. He out the finishing touches on the house. 

I really appreciate all his hard work today!

Cleaning

I'm sucking up my blog posts! Ahhh!

Today we cleaned. We cleaned. We cleaned. A lady wanted to look at our house so we power cleaned. It we crazy. I was thankful for Josh's help though. Couldn't have done it alone. We made a lost and power through it. It was not fun, but it's done and feels good to be sitting in a clean house. :)

My Mom

Yesterday I received a scary phone call from my step dad Larry. It was after 8am and as soon as I saw his name across the screen, I knew it wasn't good. He told mr calmly that my mom was in the hospital. She had fallen in the night after passing out. "They think its a heart issue." She was on monitors and feeling better, but still not 100%. 

After calling my sisters, Tara and I decided to head to the hospital. We spent the day making sure my mom was alright. They ran some tests and all came back negative. That was great!

It was scary to think what we'd do without our mom. In fact, I don't even want to think about it again. 

I'm thankful for the great care my mom received at Allegiance yesterday. I'm thankful Larry was home and was able to help my mom and care for her.  I'm also thankful she was released without any major medical issues. I love my mom and don't want to think about what we'd do without her. 

Anniversary

Today Josh and I celebrated eight years together. It's been a fun and eventful eight years. We celebrated tonight by eating at Outback and going to a movie. A special thanks to Rhonda and Roger who gave us the Outback gift card for our anniversary. Also to my mom and Larry for the movie gift card (at Christmas time). We enjoyed practically free activities tonight. :) Josh is awesome. He's a great husband and all around nice guy. I'm lucky to have him as my husband. :)

However, I'd be lying if I didn't add this part to my day. Wyatt and Eastyn called me this morning. They asked me to come over and go swimming with them. For obvious reasons, I could not. Tears came to my eyes as Wyatt said, "hello Aunt Tonya!" I miss my nephews and was happy to receive a phone call from them today. 

Thanks God for an awesome husband and for the phone call from my nephews today.
