Seniors

Tonight I am thankful for Western High School senior volleyball players. They played some tough volleyball tonight, but came up short against Charlotte to end their senior careers.

I have watched these girls play since they were in middle school. They have been a wonderful group of young ladies. It's been great getting to know them and watching them grow along the way.

Tonight Josh drove to Eaton Rapids with me to cheer on our Panthers. I was happy to see this group of seniors stick together and support each other. Life lessons where learned tonight, but mostly another chapter in these young ladies lives was closed.

After the game, hugs and thank you's were shared. Even Josh and I received them for coming. I found it nice that even though their season ended, many of them managed to say thank you.

Tonight I'm thankful Josh shared his night with me and for our seniors.

Nap

Today I am thankful for my afternoon nap with Josh. He was tired and so was I after work. We both laid down after dinner and crashed. Love it!

Hard to be Thankful (Saturday)

It's so hard for me to be thankful when I know my two friends are exhausted from the turn of events with their new born son the past two days. Knowing they were switching hospitals to give their son a better change at life and I was home helpless ate at me all day. It was such a disheartening feeling. I wish I could change it or heal their son Max instantly. God has his way of reminding us to be thankful and to not take for granted what we have been given. This may not be a child for me and Josh, but it was a numerous about of things throughout my day. I woke up this morning, I worked with my softball players (not with the volleyball coaches liking) this morning and evening running a dance. These girls are awesome! I got to spend the day caring for my healthy niece Paige. Soon she will be too big to hold and feed. I got to have lunch and run to Target with my best friend who is so understanding of my day with Paige. We started our fall/winter tradition of buying a bag of holiday M&Ms and eating them in the car! Man, they were good! I sure am lucky for my day.

I wish I could help Beth and Shannon more than just hourly prayers. Their situation gives me more of a wake up call to truly be thankful for the simple everyday things in life!

So Many Things

I feel like today I have some many things to be thankful. Miracle Max is doing much better at the U of M! Bethany got to see Annie today and Annie got to meet her little brother. :)

Paige and I got to go see grandma Patty. Paige played with every toy at grandmas! She was excellent all day today too.

Josh was awesome and mowed my grandmas lawns for me. I have such a busy week. I had no idea how I was going to get it done. He's awesome!

I went to the Med Station today and got in and out of there in less than an hour. Paige was great as we waited in the car. Meijer's pharmacy was sympathetic to me and got my prescription filled in 10 minutes.

Today was a great day! I'm tired and recovering from this stupid sinus infection, but I'm thankful for all the positive things in my life today!

10 Years

Today (Friday) I am thankful that my mom and Larry have been married for 10 years. We celebrated with a last minute dinner at Olive Garden with our family. Both mom and Larry's mothers joined us too. They loved to celebrate with their kids. We talked about how crazy Larry was to marry a lady with 3 girls!! It was an adjustment for all of us, but we are all happy that my mom and Larry made it to 10 years! I am thankful for our family.

Also, our friends the Scholtens had their baby they are calling Miracle Max. He is a little guy at 3.4lbs and is struggling, but he has an enormous amount of support and prayers behind him. I am thankful that Bethany has Max and she and him are doing ok.

I am thankful for these two huge things today (Friday).

Thursday Night TV

Tonight I am thankful for Thursday night TV! It was fun to have Lexi, Tori, and Becca over to watch Grey's and the Tigers! I enjoy Thursday night with our SAU friends. :)

Julia and Holly

Tonight I am thankful for two of my softball players who worked 4 hours today in the concession stand. I appreciate their help. Long night of volleyball and they were troopers.

Eye Drops

Ever had pink eye or stye's in your eyes?! They suck let me tell you. The past week or so my eyes have been sore and itchy. The past two mornings I have woken up with my eyes red and gooey and stuck together. Yuck! I couldn't take it anymore. I had to stay home and go to the doctors. This expensive little bottle of eye drops was the key. My eyes are starting to feel better. I am thankful for the eye drops.

pizza for lunch

Today I got pizza for my girls at lunch time. We discussed the Halloween Dance and Florida. I really like this group of girls. They are all so unique and spunky. I'm excited for our spring season. Today I was thankful for having pizza at lunch with my team! :)

Yard Work

Today I am thankful for the yard work I completed today! I did hours of it. However, I would say that I was more excited about the fact that I got to wear shorts and a t-shirt while doing working outside. We had a great weather Sunday! Wahoo!! Loved it. I'm thankful for a long sunny day of yard work!

Dads Birthday

Tonight we celebrated my dads birthday. Tara and Craig are great hosts. Her decorations are lovely. They cooked a good meal for all of us. We carved pumpkins and did tractor rides too. It was a fun day with my family. I'm thankful for the wonderful people in my life!

Volunteers

Today I am thankful our Western volunteers! Many people who support Western Athletics took the time to drive all the way to Harper Creek to help make our football game a success. Even in the nasty, cold, rainy weather they came out to help. We are very lucky that some people volunteer their time. I'm thankful for our great Western people tonight.

Tigers are Going to the World Series!

Today was awesome! The Tigers swept the Yankees!!! The dominated them! Four homers hit! They are going to the World Series! Wahoo! I love baseball. I love the Tigers! So pumped we are going to the World Series!

Visitors

I LOVE visitors at work! Love them. Unfortunately in my new office, they are pretty infrequent. Boo. But, not today! Former softball player alumni Alexis Boyt stopped in to visit me today! It was great to see her. Bright spot in my day. I love all my softball players and love it when they take the time to visit me at work. Alexis is so great, that Ally saw her and came in to visit with us too. These two have many similarities. They both have bright futures ahead of them. :)

It made me happy that each of them stopped in to visit me today.

Mail

Today I am thankful for the mail. We suck at getting the mail though. Since I was running directly in front of it today, I grabbed the mail. Inside, was a small card addressed to Josh and myself. It was from our little friend Annie Scholten! She's such a sweet little girl. Thoughtful already too! We loved the little card she sent to us below. How cute. I am thankful that Annie is the product of two great friends of ours. Bethany and Shannon are lucky to have such a cute little girl and we are happy to spent time with them too.

No RAIN

Tonight I am thankful that it did not rain! :) I REALLY had to get my grandma's lawns mowed today because the rest of my week is crazy busy!! Thankfully, it did not rain so I got to get my work done. Wahoo!

Tigers

Today I was thankful that the Tigers won game two! Wahoo!

Nieces and Nephews

Today was entertaining and interesting! What do you do with a three year old and two one year olds?! You just go with the flow. That's exactly what I did this morning and all day today. Both the sisters had to work so I took on the task. Josh decided to hunt in the morning so that left me and well, me for a while. Paige and Eastyn were so cute. Wyatt is easily entertained. Luckily, Alexis and Tori came over at lunch time and helped me out. What a great time we had. I am thankful that I had the day to spend with my nieces and nephews!

Spending the Night

It was a Good Friday. The football team got a win against Northwest!

But I loved coming home to my nephews! I love it when they spend the night! I am thankful that my family lives close and Josh and I get to be fun Aunts and Uncles. :)

Klavon's!

I love Klavon's! I love the sporty atmosphere with the big screen TVs and 'fat heads' on the wall. Their pizza is awesome! Their Diet Pepsi is outstanding. I have loved it since our first trip there years ago. Their stuffed pizza is delicious!!!!

Our trip was extra special tonight because we took our favorite SAU student Alexis and Tori too. We had parmesan bread and pop and pizza. Yum!!

I love Klavon's and I'm so glad Josh and I got to go tonight with our SAU friends. We had a wonderful time.

Seniors

Tonight was the volleyball teams last home game. I have watched these seniors participate in athletics since they were in 7th grade. Some of them even earlier. They are a wonderful group of seniors. All products of great families. They have had a challenging senior season of volleyball, but have always shown up ready to play their hardest. I'm proud of how they have handled their senior year. Tough group of female athletes. I hate to watch them crying after they play their last home game. Bittersweet.

Tonight I am thankful for this outstanding group of senior girls!

Dinner with the Scholtens

Tonight we took a trip to Holt to visit our good friends the Scholten's. We had not seen their new home yet. Josh and I were both excited to go.

Their new house is awesome Bethany is an awesome cook. She made a great dinner and we had dessert as well.

Josh got to chat with Shannon and Bethany and I got to do some 'cooking' with Annie. :)

I'm so glad we got to visit with our friends tonight! I sure do miss my friend.

Dinner!

I had a late day today. I told Josh to go ahead and eat without me. Driving home, I almost went to Subway for a 9pm sub, but was too lazy. As I walked in the door, I instantly smelled chicken and dumplings! Yumm!! Josh had made dinner for us. It was awesome!! Yumm!! :) I am thankful for dinner tonight from Josh!

Lazy Sunday

Thank The Lord for a LAZY Sunday!

We had no reason to get up early, so we didn't. I was going to run early, but this weather is freaking depressing. So, I just couldn't get out of bed to run.

We had a lazy lunch at Panera. We grocery shopped without being in a hurry. There were no games to coach and no nieces of nephews to pick up. Ahhh, a day of lazy. We got home from grocery shopping and Josh declared it NAP TIME. Watching football, we each took a nap on a couch. Loved it!

We did however, mow my grandmas and other grandmas lawns together. We even took the dogs. We crashed out the winter clean up at Grandma Lewis' too.

Too lazy to make dinner, we grabbed some chili at Wendy's too. Hehe. We did clean our house though. All laundry and bathrooms clean. Check!

We are currently enjoying a lazy evening of football on the couch too. Love it!

I hate this weather and what it means is yet to come. Ugh! Depressing.

I'm just glad for a lazy Sunday with Josh. :) and GO TIGERS!

Throwing a Football

Today, was long. Volleyball in a gym and concession stand all day long!!!

At the end, during clean up, an alumni threw me a football pass that I caught with my right hand. A 7th grade boy shocked that I could catch, said, "nice catch." I laughed, placed my hands around the laces, and lightly threw a spiral pass back to him. I stood and watched it glide threw the gym.

Football means fall. Football means the cold us coming. But throwing that pass today reminded me of my backyard days at my grandmas. I spent countless hours playing football with the neighbor boys. Even though I couldn't out run them to save my life, I could throw one hell of a pass to them. Always better than the non athletics but fast kid two doors down. I was the only girl who got to play and i loved it.

As I cleaned up the gym, my mind kept wandering to my days of living at my grandparents and how much I loved playing football with the neighbor boys.

Today, I am thankful for football in my childhood. :)

Fun Josh

Tonight I was thankful for my fun husband. He was in a good mood. We put on sweatshirts after work and headed to Panera for dinner. Then I bought myself a new hoody as my present to myself for running a half marathon. After that we picked up some candy to go see our nephews! We did a quick visit just to say hi it was a fun night with Josh and the boys. I thankful for a fun husband tonight!
